Terms and Conditions of the Swinburne Vietnam Scholarship 2024-2025

The scholarship will be awarded to candidates who register to participate in the scholarship evaluation. Swinburne Vietnam is committed to fostering success among learners by providing top 1% of world-class quality education programs in Vietnam.

Swinburne Vietnam sponsors scholarships for students who aspire to improve their studies, becoming global citizens. These are referred to as the next gen_now students, always pioneering to seize the opportunities of the technological revolution to achieve success for themselves, their families, and society.

Eligibility for the scholarship:

  • Candidates who have graduated from high school and completed admission procedures (submission of documents and admission fees, first-time tuition fees), and aspired to pursue undergraduate programs at Swinburne Vietnam.
  • The Swinburne Vietnam scholarship is awarded for the entire specialised study phase, excluding the Global Citizen program content.
  • Swinburne Vietnam scholarships are awarded to candidates participating in scholarship application and evaluation. Specifically:
    • Desire to study and experience in an international learning environment.
    • Positive outlook towards the future and ambitious to seize future opportunities.
    • Driven by motivation, not dependent solely on past high school academic results or English proficiency.
    • Fairly good high school performance with activities contributing value to the community.
    • Desire to access high-quality educational opportunities but facing difficulties such as disabilities, belonging to ethnic minorities, residing in remote areas, facing special hardships, families where parents have not attended university and have a first child aspiring for university education.

Scope of Application: Applicable to students enrolling at all Swinburne Vietnam campuses for the academic year 2024-2025. This scholarship applies to specialised study semesters, excluding the Global Citizen program phase and additional fees for retaking courses or other charges.

Scholarship Budget: The scholarship budget will adhere to the annual scholarship standards.

Scholarship Maintenance Requirements: We will consider reducing or revoking scholarships granted to students at the end of each semester if the students fail to meet the following scholarship maintenance requirements:

  • Students do not meet study progress/course requirements (e.g., failing courses from previous semesters, significantly delayed academic progress exceeding one year).
  • Students violate regulations related to unacceptable behaviour, integrity, internal rules, or legal violations.

The decision to consider reducing or revoking scholarships (if applicable) will be made by the Director of Swinburne Vietnam based on proposals from functional departments/committees.

Minimum Standards for Applying for Scholarship Evaluation Forms Swinburne Vietnam seeks and recruits pioneering spirits – next gen_now individuals who aspire to study in an international environment to become global citizens, pioneering innovation, creativity, and practical application.

The total program tuition fee for students entering in 2024 is 513,260 million VND (approximately 22,000 USD).

For students registering to study in Da Nang, in addition to regular scholarships, students will receive an additional 50 million VND scholarship when studying in Da Nang – an economic and technological hub, recognized as one of the best places to live in the world.

Students transferring between Swinburne Vietnam campuses will not change tuition fees.

With special support from Swinburne University of Technology and FPT University, applicants will have special preferential scholarships. Applicants participating in scholarship evaluations can receive scholarships for the entire program of study, including:

Change-Maker Scholarship (Value: 50-100 million VND):

  • Application Criteria:
    • High school students with a GPA in grade 11, semester 1, or throughout grade 12 ranging from 7.0 – 7.5 (excluding Physical Education, National Defense Education, and Civic Education subjects).
    • Desire to make changes to study better in an international environment.
    • Basic English proficiency and a desire to improve English language skills for studying in an international setting.
    • Participation in and passing the Swinburne entrance examination.

Pioneer Scholarship (Value: 125 – 150 million VND):

  • Application Criteria:
    • High school students with a GPA in grade 11, semester 1, or throughout grade 12 of 8.0 or higher.
    • Desire to study in an international environment.
    • Fairly good English proficiency.
    • Achieve good results in the entrance examination and demonstrate a pioneering spirit.

Talent Scholarship (Value: 175 – 200 million VND):

  • Application Criteria:
    • High school students with a GPA in grade 11, semester 1, or throughout grade 12 of 8.5 or higher.
    • Desire to study in an international environment, engaging in activities that positively impact society.
    • Good English proficiency or higher.
    • Achieve good results in the entrance examination and demonstrate talent (related to analytical or problem-solving abilities).

NEXT GEN_NOW Scholarship (Value: 225 – 250 million VND):

  • Application Criteria:
    • High school students with a GPA in grade 11, semester 1, or throughout grade 12 of 9.0 or higher.
    • Desire to study in an international environment, engaging in activities that positively impact society.
    • Good or higher English proficiency.
    • Achieving good results in the entrance examination, demonstrating talent, outstanding creative abilities, analytical skills, problem-solving capacities.

Outstanding Scholarship (Value: 275-300 million VND):

  • Application Criteria:
    • High school students with a GPA in grade 11, semester 1, or throughout grade 12 of 9.0 or higher.
    • Desire to study in an international environment, engaging in activities that positively impact society.
    • Good or higher English proficiency.
    • Achieving good results in the entrance examination, demonstrating talent, outstanding creative abilities, analytical skills, problem-solving capacities.
    • Outstanding achievements recognized for positively impacting the economy, society, and the environment.

Sustainable Development Scholarship (Value: 150 – 400 million VND):

  • Application Criteria:
    • High school students with a GPA in grade 11, semester 1, or throughout grade 12 of 7.0 or higher.
    • Desire to access high-quality education despite facing difficulties such as disabilities, belonging to ethnic minorities, living in remote areas, facing special hardships, or having parents who have not attended university and have a first child aspiring for university education.
    • Positive attitude towards studying to contribute to the family and society.

Olympia Scholarship (Value: above 300 million VND):

  • Application Criteria:
    • Outstanding high school academic achievements and English proficiency exceeding the Talent Scholarship criteria.
    • Exceptional thinking, vision, and outstanding social activities.
    • Achieving high awards in city or national exams, impactful community activities, and pioneering technology applications.
    • Outstanding achievements recognized for positively impacting the economy, society, and the environment.

FPT Talent Scholarship valued at 150 million VND: Reserved for candidates whose parents work in FPT Corporation units

  • Application Criteria:
    • High school students with a GPA in grade 11, semester 1, or throughout grade 12 of 7.0 or higher.
    • Desire to access high-quality education and have parents working in FPT Corporation-owned units.
    • Positive attitude towards studying to contribute to the family and society.

Scholarship Evaluation Procedure:

Round 1: Submission of documents and registration for the entrance examination – Documents include the most recent academic results, English proficiency certificates, and certificates of social activities. *Applicants facing difficult circumstances who wish to apply for the “Sustainable Development” scholarship can submit their application along with relevant evidence. Applicants can submit directly to admissions counsellors or upload documents to MySwinburne (online admissions registration portal).

Round 2: Entrance Examination – Applicants take part in the examination to assess cognitive abilities. Applicants may be invited for an interview with Swinburne’s leadership to assess additional capabilities and learning aspirations. Register for admissions information here: tuyensinh.swin.edu.vn.
