Terms and Conditions of the Swinburne Vietnam Scholarship 2026

The total tuition fee for students enrolling in 2025 is 575,000,000 VND (approximately 22,500 USD). With special support from Swinburne University of Technology and FPT University, candidates can access exclusive scholarship opportunities. Scholarship decisions are based on academic performance, English proficiency, and entrance exam results.

Applicants can register for scholarship selection rounds and apply for scholarships covering the entire program tuition, including:

Change-Maker Scholarship (Value: 50-100 million VND):

  • Application Criteria:
    • High school students with a GPA in grade 11, semester 1, or throughout grade 12 ranging from 7.0 – 8.0 (excluding Physical Education, National Defense Education, and Civic Education subjects).
    • Desire to make changes to study better in an international environment.
    • Basic English proficiency and a desire to improve English language skills for studying in an international setting.
    • Participation in and passing the Swinburne Vietnam entrance examination.

Pioneer Scholarship (Value: 125 – 150 million VND):

  • Application Criteria:
    • High school students with a GPA in grade 11, semester 1, or throughout grade 12 of 8.0 or higher.
    • Desire to study in an international environment.
    • Fairly good English proficiency (IELTS 6.0 or higher).
    • Achieve good results in the entrance examination and demonstrate a pioneering spirit.

Talent Scholarship (Value: 175 – 200 million VND):

  • Application Criteria:
    • High school students with a GPA in grade 11, semester 1, or throughout grade 12 of 9.0 or higher.
    • Desire to study in an international environment, engaging in activities that positively impact society.
    • Good English proficiency (IELTS 7.0 or higher).
    • Achieve good results in the entrance examination and demonstrate talent (related to analytical or problem-solving abilities).

Sustainable Development Scholarship (Value: 150 – 400 million VND):

  • Application Criteria:
    • High school students with a GPA in grade 11, semester 1, or throughout grade 12 of 7.0 or higher.
    • Desire to access high-quality education despite facing difficulties such as disabilities, belonging to ethnic minorities, living in remote areas, facing special hardships, or having parents who have not attended university and have a first child aspiring for university education.
    • Positive attitude towards studying to contribute to the family and society.

Olympia Scholarship (Value: above 300 million VND):

For over 20 years, Swinburne University of Technology (Australia) has proudly sponsored the champions of the “Road to Olympia Summit” competition, providing access to world-class undergraduate programs. With a mission to nurture and develop the talents of Vietnam’s youth, Swinburne Vietnam continues to offer significant scholarships to outstanding students from high schools across the country.

The goal is for each high school to have 1 to 2 talented students eligible for this scholarship.

Eligibility Criteria for the Olympia Scholarship include one of the following categories:

  • Group 1: Winners of the Quarter Championship (Full Scholarship) or Monthly Champion in the “Road to Olympia Summit” competition organized by Vietnam Television: 80% tuition scholarship
  • Group 2: First or second prize winners in provincial or higher-level gifted student competitions or provincial or higher-level Science & Technology competitions: 50%-70% tuition scholarship
  • Group 3: Other outstanding achievements such as third prize in provincial gifted student competitions, awards in academic, technology, or engineering competitions at provincial or international level, and good English proficiency (IELTS 6.0 or above): 30%-50% tuition scholarship

All candidates meeting the Olympia Scholarship criteria are required to participate in an interview with representatives from Swinburne Vietnam.

FPT Talent Scholarship valued at 125 million VND: Reserved for candidates whose parents work in FPT Corporation units

  • Application Criteria:
    • High school students with a GPA in grade 11, semester 1, or throughout grade 12 of 7.0 or higher.
    • Desire to access high-quality education and have parents working in FPT Corporation-owned units.
    • Positive attitude towards studying to contribute to the family and society.

Scholarship and Admission Selection Procedures

Admission via entrance assessment includes review of academic records from Grade 11 and the most recent Grade 12 results, English proficiency, and thinking skills demonstrated through the entrance test. Swinburne Vietnam will use the results of the entrance assessment to determine scholarship levels for applicants.

Round 1: Application Review

  • Submit the most recent academic records for Grade 11, first semester or full-year Grade 12, English certificates, and evidence of social activities and other academic achievements.
  • Updated documents can be submitted HERE, sent to the Swinburne Vietnam email ([email protected]), or via contact with the admissions counseling staff.
  • Applications that meet the requirements will be invited to Round 2.

Round 2: Competency Assessment

  • Applicants with a GPA of 8.0 or above will take an additional assessment test evaluating creativity, logical thinking, analysis, and problem-solving skills.
  • Invitation letters for the competency assessment will be sent to applicants via email before the assessment date.

Conditional Offer and Enrollment Confirmation

Swinburne Vietnam will issue conditional offers within 2 weeks. Applicants must confirm their acceptance of the Offer.

To secure enrollment and retain the scholarship, applicants must pay an Application Fee of 4.6 million VND.

Applicants who confirm enrollment before the deadline stated in the Offer will have the 4.6 million VND fee waived via direct deduction from the first semester tuition.

After accepting the offer, applicants must continue high school studies and achieve a Grade 12 average of 7.0 or above (excluding Physical Education, National Defense, and Civic Education courses) and graduate from high school to officially commence the 2025 academic year.

Scope of Application 

  • Applies to students enrolling full-time courses at any Swinburne Vietnam location in 2026.
  • Scholarships are applicable to the Major program, not for the Global Citizenship Education Program, retake fees, or other fees.
  • The scholarship is applicable exclusively to full-time undergraduate students pursuing the standard 3-year specialized curriculum, with a minimum cumulative workload of 300 credits (equivalent to 24 units).
  • The scholarship regulations do not apply to students who have been granted credit exemptions or credit transfers from equivalent educational programs to Swinburne Vietnam.
  • The Regional Scholarship is inherently tied to the student’s actual location of study. In the event that a student transfers to a different location or region, the Regional Scholarship shall become void and is non-transferable to the new location.

Scholarship Budget 

Scholarship allocation is based on the annual scholarship quota.

Conditions for Maintaining Scholarships

Swinburne Vietnam may reduce awarded scholarships after a semester if students fail to meet the following conditions:

  • Failing to meet academic progress/course requirements (e.g., failing previous courses, deferring studies beyond 2 semesters).
  • Violating regulations related to unacceptable behavior, integrity, attendance (less than 80% class attendance), university rules, or the law.
  • Students who meet scholarship maintenance requirements for two consecutive semesters may be considered for restoration of the previous scholarship level.
  • Scholarship reductions are decided by the Director of Swinburne Vietnam based on recommendations from relevant departments.
