2026 ADMISSIONS ANNOUNCEMENT

Swinburne Vietnam is committed to delivering an internationally recognized education program ranked in the TOP 300 globally, equipping students with comprehensive skills to prepare them for a successful career in a globalized environment.

1. Admission Eligibility

Swinburne Vietnam welcomes students who aspire to access high-quality international education, prepare for a successful career in a globalized and technology-driven world.

Applicants who do not meet the English language entry requirements for direct admission to their chosen major will be required to participate in the Global Citizenship Education Program to enhance their English proficiency.

2. Offered Programs and Majors

Swinburne Vietnam delivers its academic programs at the same quality standards as Swinburne University of Technology, Australia. Graduates receive an equivalent degree to those studying in Australia. Applicants can choose from the following fields and majors:

Computer Science, featuring 5 majors:

Business, featuring 6 majors:

Media and Communication, featuring 3 majors:

Design, featuring 1 major:

3. Academic Requirements

– Applicants must have completed high school in 2026 or earlier with a Grade 12 GPA of at least 7.0.

– Applicants must have an English grade of at least 7.0 in Grade 12. Those with lower scores can apply but must undergo an additional interview to assess their competencies.

– For Computer Science majors, students must have completed at least one Mathematics course in Grade 11 or an equivalent level.

English Language Requirements for Direct Entry into Majors – Students must meet one of the following criteria:

– IELTS (Academic) overall band score of 6.0, with no individual band below 6.0.

– IELTS One Skill Retake (must be taken within 60 days of the original test result) with an overall band of 6.0, no band below 6.0.

– TOEFL iBT: Overall score of 64 (minimum 13 in Reading, 12 in Listening, 18 in Speaking, and 21 in Writing).

– PTE: Overall score of 50 (with no communicative skill below 50).

– C1 Advanced (Cambridge): Minimum total score of 169 (no skill below 169) – applicable only for paper-based tests from February 12, 2024.

– Swinburne Vietnam’s Global Citizenship Education Program (GCED) Level 6: Overall score of 70% (no skill below 70%).

– Credit transfer from other universities or colleges (considered on a case-by-case basis).

– International students (please contact the admissions office here for further details).

4. Degree Awarded

Graduates will receive a Bachelor’s degree from Swinburne University of Technology, Australia, ranked among the TOP 294 universities globally according to the QS World Rankings 2026.

6. Registration Deadlines and Academic Schedule

Admission and scholarship assessments will be conducted in multiple rounds based on applicant numbers. The exact dates will be communicated to interested students and parents by the admissions team.

Expected Start Date: August 2026

7. Study Pathway

Successful applicants can begin their studies in any of the three intakes: Spring (January), Summer (May), or Fall (August) 2026. Students will first complete the Global Citizenship Education Program before progressing to their major studies.

Students who meet the English language requirements for direct entry into their major (IELTS 6.0 with no band below 6.0 or equivalent) may take the Global Citizenship Education Program alongside their major courses.

Expected Study Pathway for Candidates Graduating from High School in 2026

Completion of enrollment before August 31, 2026: Eligible to register for the Global Citizenship Education Program and a Major starting from the Fall semester (September 2026).

Completion of enrollment from September 1–7, 2026: Eligible to register for the Global Citizenship Education Program in September 2026, and a Major starting from the Spring semester (January 2027).

Completion of enrollment from September 8, 2026 onwards: Eligible to register for the Global Citizenship Education Program in November 2026, and a Major starting from the Spring semester (January 2027).

Notes:

  • Students may only register for a Major once they meet the English language requirements as set by Swinburne University of Technology (Australia) and the Ministry of Education and Training of Vietnam. See details here.
  • Enrollment procedures include completing the required enrollment documents and paying tuition fees as regulated.

8. Admissions and Scholarship Assessment

Admissions are based on an evaluation of applicants’ academic performance in Grade 11 and the latest Grade 12 results, English proficiency, and cognitive skills through an entrance assessment. Swinburne Vietnam will use these results to determine scholarship eligibility.

Phase 1: Application Review

– Submit the latest academic records for Grade 11, the first semester or full-year results of Grade 12, English certificates, and any supporting documents for extracurricular activities and academic achievements.

– Submit applications [HERE] or via Swinburne Vietnam’s official email ([email protected]) or contact an admissions counselor for support.

– Qualified applicants will be invited to Phase 2.

Phase 2: Competency Assessment

– Applicants with a GPA of 7.0 or higher will take an additional test assessing creativity, logical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

– Invitations for the competency assessment will be sent via email before the test date.

Admission Offers and Confirmation

Swinburne Vietnam will issue conditional admission offers within a maximum of two weeks. Applicants must confirm their enrollment by accepting the offer.

Applicants must pay an Application Fee of 4.6 million VND to secure their admission and scholarship. Early applicants who confirm enrollment before the deadline specified in their offer letter will have this fee deducted from their first semester’s tuition.

To finalize admission, students must maintain a Grade 12 GPA of 7.0 or above (excluding Physical Education, National Defense Education, and Citizenship Education) and graduate from high school.

8.1 Scholarship Eligibility

– High school graduates who have completed the admission process (submitted documents, paid enrollment and initial tuition fees) and wish to pursue their studies at Swinburne Vietnam.

– Scholarships apply exclusively to major studies and do not cover the Global Citizenship Education Program.

– Scholarships are awarded to applicants who take part in the entrance assessment and scholarship review, demonstrating a strong desire for academic excellence, global citizenship, and innovation for economic and social impact.

Eligible Candidates:

– Students seeking international education and experiences.

– Individuals with a forward-thinking vision and a drive to seize future opportunities.

– Motivated students who are not solely dependent on high school grades or English proficiency.

– Applicants with strong academic performance and meaningful community engagement.

8.2 Scholarship Scope

– Scholarships apply to students enrolling at any location for the 2026 academic year.

– They are granted for major studies only, excluding the Global Citizenship Education Program, retake courses, and other additional fees.

– The scholarship is applicable exclusively to full-time undergraduate students pursuing the standard 3-year specialized curriculum, with a minimum cumulative workload of 300 credits (equivalent to 24 units).

– The scholarship regulations do not apply to students who have been granted credit exemptions or credit transfers from equivalent educational programs to Swinburne Vietnam.

– The Regional Scholarship is inherently tied to the student’s actual location of study. In the event that a student transfers to a different location or region, the Regional Scholarship shall become void and is non-transferable to the new location.

8.3 Scholarship Budget

Scholarship funds will be allocated based on the annual scholarship quota.

8.4 Scholarship Programs

The total tuition fee for students enrolling in 2026 is 575,000,000 VND (approximately 22,000 USD).

With special support from Swinburne University of Technology and FPT University, applicants may receive exclusive scholarship opportunities.

Scholarships will be awarded based on academic achievements, English proficiency, and entrance assessment results.

If a scholarship recipient achieves further academic recognition during their studies, such as placing third or higher in a provincial academic competition or significantly improving their IELTS or GPA scores, they may qualify for additional scholarship adjustments.

Change-Maker Scholarship: Value of 50-100 million VND

Eligibility Criteria:

  • High school students with a GPA of 7.0-8.0 or higher in Grade 11, Semester 1, or the full academic year of Grade 12 (excluding Physical Education, National Defense Education, and Civic Education subjects).
  • A strong desire to improve academically in an international learning environment.
  • English proficiency and motivation to enhance English skills for study purposes.
  • Meeting Swinburne Vietnam’s admission requirements.

Pioneer Scholarship: Value of 125-150 million VND

Eligibility Criteria:

  • High school students with a GPA of 8.0 or higher in Grade 11, Semester 1, or the full academic year of Grade 12.
  • Aspiration to study in an international learning environment.
  • Fairly strong English proficiency.
  • Good performance in the admission test and a demonstrated pioneering spirit.

Talent Scholarship: Value of 175-200 million VND

Eligibility Criteria:

  • High school students with a GPA of 8.5 or higher in Grade 11, Semester 1, or the full academic year of Grade 12.
  • Strong aspiration to study in an international environment and engagement in activities positively impacting society.
  • Good English proficiency (IELTS 6.5 or higher).
  • Strong performance in the admission test and demonstrated talent (related to analytical, problem-solving, or critical thinking skills).

Sustainable Development Scholarship: Value of 150-400 million VND

Eligibility Criteria:

  • High school students with a GPA of 7.0 or higher in Grade 11, Semester 1, or the full academic year of Grade 12.
  • Aspiration to access high-quality education despite facing challenges such as disabilities, belonging to ethnic minorities, living in remote areas, experiencing financial difficulties, losing a parent due to accidents or COVID-19, or being the first in the family to attend university.
  • A positive attitude and strong commitment to learning to contribute to family and society.

Olympia Scholarship: Value from 300 million VND to Full Scholarship

For over 20 years, Swinburne University of Technology (Australia) has proudly sponsored the champions of the “Road to Mount Olympia” competition, providing opportunities for access to world-class university education. To continue nurturing and fostering young Vietnamese talent, Swinburne Vietnam offers substantial scholarships for outstanding high school students nationwide.

Each high school is expected to have 1-2 talented students eligible for this scholarship.

Eligibility Criteria: Applicants must meet at least one of the following conditions:

  • Winning a Quarterly Champion title (Full Scholarship – 550 million VND) or Monthly Champion title (Scholarship worth 440 million VND, equivalent to 80% tuition coverage) in the “Road to Mount Olympia” competition by Vietnam Television.
  • Winning first or second place in provincial/city-level academic competitions or science and technology contests.
  • Demonstrating outstanding academic achievements with a GPA of ≥9.0, IELTS ≥7.5, and additional notable accomplishments such as winning district-level academic competitions or excelling in extracurricular activities.

All Olympia Scholarship candidates must attend an interview with Swinburne Vietnam’s leadership team.

FPT Talent Scholarship: Value of 125 million VND

Eligibility Criteria:

  • High school students with a GPA of 7.0 or higher in Grade 11, Semester 1, or the full academic year of Grade 12.
  • Aspiration to access high-quality education and have a parent working in an FPT Corporation subsidiary (100% owned by FPT).
  • A positive attitude and a strong commitment to learning to contribute to family and society.

For applicants registering for the scholarship admission rounds, the highest possible scholarship amount will be granted.

9. Tuition Fees

The tuition fee for a full degree program at Swinburne Vietnam is 575,000,000 VND (approximately 22,000 USD) for 9 semesters (applicable for 2026 intakes).

During the first five years of operation, Swinburne Vietnam offers special scholarships to encourage students to embrace academic transformation and study in an international learning environment. This provides an opportunity for students with a strong motivation to excel to access Swinburne University of Technology programs at a reasonable tuition cost.

Graduates will receive a degree from Swinburne University of Technology, ranked in the TOP 300 of the world’s universities (QS, 2026).

For students who wish to transfer to Swinburne University of Technology (Australia), the tuition fee applied will be approximately 25,000 USD per academic year (2 semesters).
