Corporate Partnership Network
Guiding students toward practical industry experiences through enterprise connections is the very first “moon-shot” mission of Swinburne Vietnam, creating unique value for staff, students, and partners. With this goal, Swinburne Vietnam realizes the vision of Swinburne University of Technology: “People and technology working together to build a better world.”
Through an extensive industry network, Swinburne Vietnam partners with nearly 100 leading corporations across diverse sectors, including InterContinental, FPT Software, Panasonic, Nielsen, PwC, T&A Ogilvy, VnExpress, IBM Vietnam, Sun Group, Viettel, Cisco, Toyota, VNPT, VMO, NashTech, and more. These collaborations provide students with invaluable opportunities for real-world engagement while strengthening the ecosystem of learning, research, and enterprise at Swinburne Vietnam.

Internship Semester
The Internship Semester is an excellent opportunity for students to gain workplace experience and a fundamental understanding of corporate environments. Over four months, students work on real projects within enterprises, following structured learning pathways. They also practice teamwork, critical thinking, and professional communication, equipping them with essential qualities for their future careers.
For key internship positions, students may undergo interviews and competency tests before being accepted. Beyond observation, students are expected to apply their knowledge to solve real business problems, producing measurable outcomes.

Throughout the internship, students receive continuous support from both the university and the host organization. A coordination team, including unit chairs, lecturers, training staff, enterprise managers, and direct supervisors, works closely to ensure timely updates and feedback.
Students can also share reflections via Canvas discussions and attend weekly “Drop-in Sessions” for quick assistance. Many interns receive stipends or even formal job offers during their placements.
Alumni have shared that Swinburne’s industry-integrated learning opportunities were pivotal in advancing their careers and achieving professional goals.
Industry Projects
Industry Projects, ranging from research, product development, to corporate case studies—challenge Swinburne Vietnam students to innovate. The university actively collaborates with industry leaders on cutting-edge technologies, especially IoT and Artificial Intelligence.
Every unit at Swinburne Vietnam integrates an Industry Project, carefully planned each semester. This ensures that students constantly apply their academic knowledge to real-world business contexts, setting Swinburne apart from other universities.
Industry experts and partner organizations are closely involved in these projects, giving students hands-on exposure and industry-relevant skills to succeed in the global workforce.
“Swinburne Vietnam students show research depth and a strong understanding of customer needs. Many ideas are highly practical, and we look forward to continuing to work with them on detailed implementation,” said Ms. Bui Thi Minh Hoa, Director of Mastertran Vietnam.
Field Trips
Field Trips are an integral part of every specialized subject at Swinburne Vietnam, conducted at least once per course. They help students understand business environments and apply classroom knowledge in practice.
Notable field trips have included visits to Panasonic Vietnam factories, LeBros Media Group, Samsung R&D Center, Saigon Beer Factory, Dalat Hasfarm, and Acecook Vietnam.

With the vision of shaping global citizens, Swinburne Vietnam emphasizes meaningful engagement with the world. Beyond classroom learning, international study tours offer students first-hand experiences of global industries.
Recent international field trips have included:
- A study exchange with Panyapiwat Institute of Management, Thailand
- A social media workshop at TikTok, Singapore
- A cultural and academic exchange at Providence University, Taiwan
Learning with Industry Experts
Specialist sessions with industry experts aim to foster holistic student development by providing career direction, professional advice, and constructive feedback.
- Unit Chair/Enrichment Sessions (Swinburne Australia Faculty): Delivered by professors and lecturers from Swinburne University of Technology (Hawthorn, Australia), these sessions expand on weekly topics and provide insights for assessments.
- Guest Speaker Sessions: Industry leaders share their career journeys, business models, and innovation strategies, offering students authentic perspectives of working in the “real world.” Students are encouraged to ask questions that help them evaluate career paths.
At Swinburne Vietnam, every subject guarantees at least one mentor session and a practical problem-solving activity set by guest speakers or partner companies. These experiences give students a close-up view of the industries they aspire to enter after graduation.
