Chat GPT and Future of AI

The “ChatGPT and The Future of AI” workshop was organized by Swinburne Danang to discuss the latest advancements in artificial intelligence (AI) and how they will shape the future of work. The event brought together over 100 attendees who engaged in lively discussions about emerging AI technologies and their implications for the job market. <img class="aligncenter wp-image-24339" src="https://swinburne-vn.edu.vn/wp-content/uploads/ChatGPT-scaled.jpg" alt="" width="800" height="385" /> The workshop was organized as a panel discussion with expert speakers sharing their insights and answering questions from the audience. The interactive nature of the event allowed attendees to participate in the conversation and gain a better understanding of the impact of AI on their future careers. The outcomes of the workshop were twofold. Firstly, attendees were able to gain a deeper understanding of AI and its potential impact on the workforce. Secondly, attendees were able to engage with experts in the field and gain insights into potential career paths related to AI. The “ChatGPT and The Future of AI” workshop is related to SDG 4 (Quality Education) as it provided an opportunity for attendees to learn about emerging technologies and their impact on the workforce. Additionally, it is related to SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities) as it highlighted the importance of staying informed about emerging technologies to ensure sustainable development.

Podcast: S-Talk by Student HQ x Media Club

S-Talk Podcast is a student-led project organized by Student HQ and GLAMME (Swinburne Danang Media Club) that focuses on the life of Swinburne students. The podcast explores familiar topics for Gen Z and is brought to life through stories, interviews, and sharing experiences. The project has three main themes: story, survival, and success. Topics are brainstormed based on key words such as struggle, skills, sacrifice, sympathy, stress, and scholarship, among others. <img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-24330" title="Podcast: S-Talk by Student HQ x Media Club 1" src="https://swinburne-vn.edu.vn/wp-content/uploads/Capture.png" alt="Capture" width="712" height="384" /> The outcomes of the S-Talk project have been significant for the Swinburne community. Through the podcast, students have had the opportunity to share their experiences, challenges, and successes, inspiring others to overcome difficulties and thrive in their academic and personal lives. The podcast has also served as a platform to showcase the diverse talents, perspectives, and backgrounds of Swinburne students, fostering a sense of belonging and community. The S-Talk project is related to SDG 11, sustainable communities, as it promotes inclusivity, diversity, and social cohesion. By sharing stories and experiences, the podcast contributes to creating a more tolerant and understanding community, breaking down barriers and reducing inequalities. Furthermore, by providing a platform for students to share their perspectives and ideas, the project encourages innovation, creativity, and critical thinking, essential components of sustainable development.

Tet Festival 2023: Tradition & Togetherness

The Tet Festival 2023 was an event organized by Swinburne Vietnam Alliance Program - Danang to celebrate the traditional Vietnamese Lunar New Year with students and staff members. The event showcased the richness and diversity of Vietnamese culture through various activities and performances. Traditional customs such as “Tò he” (clay figurine making) and “Xin chữ” (writing calligraphy) were demonstrated, allowing participants to learn about and experience the customs firsthand. The event also featured a performance of traditional Vietnamese musical instruments, including the dan bau, dan tranh, and dan nguyet, adding a musical element to the celebration. Folk games such as tug of war and sack racing were also organized, providing an opportunity for participants to engage in physical activities and interact with one another. <img class="aligncenter wp-image-24328" src="https://swinburne-vn.edu.vn/wp-content/uploads/Tet.jpg" alt="" width="800" height="591" /> The outcomes of the event were positive, as it brought together people from different backgrounds to celebrate a common tradition and promote cultural diversity. Participants were able to learn about and appreciate the beauty of Vietnamese culture, while also fostering a sense of community and togetherness. Through this event, Swinburne Vietnam Alliance Program - Danang contributed to the promotion of SDG 11, sustainable development, by encouraging the preservation and celebration of cultural diversity and promoting social inclusion and cohesion.

Swinburne Vietnam Intercultural Camp

The Swinburne Vietnam Intercultural Camp is a 2-day, 1-night event organized to create a cross-cultural environment that explores the traditional culture of the Cơ Tu community. The camp is designed to provide participants with opportunities to learn and innovate essential skills such as critical thinking, collaboration, communication, and creativity. The camp is organized with the goal of fostering a deeper appreciation for cultural diversity and understanding the importance of preserving traditional knowledge and practices. Participants will engage in various activities that will enable them to gain insight into the customs, beliefs, and values of the Cơ Tu community. These activities include interactive workshops, guided tours, cultural performances, and traditional craft-making sessions. <img class="aligncenter wp-image-24314" src="https://swinburne-vn.edu.vn/wp-content/uploads/Intercultural.jpg" alt="" width="800" height="536" /> The outcomes of the Swinburne Vietnam Intercultural Camp are numerous. Participants will develop a deeper understanding of cultural diversity, enhance their critical thinking, communication, collaboration, and creative skills, and learn the importance of preserving traditional knowledge and practices. Additionally, they will have an opportunity to develop meaningful relationships with people from different cultures, which will contribute to their personal growth and broaden their perspectives. The Swinburne Vietnam Intercultural Camp is closely related to SDG11, which focuses on building sustainable communities. The camp's emphasis on cross-cultural communication and the preservation of traditional knowledge aligns with SDG11's objective of promoting sustainable development through cultural diversity, tolerance, and mutual respect. By creating a deeper understanding and appreciation for cultural diversity, the Suoi Hoa camp contributes to building sustainable communities where everyone can thrive.

Mini Club Fair

To welcome new students to Swinburne Vietnam, the Mini Club Fair was held to introduce a youthful and remarkable student life. Our beloved student clubs will join in the session with interesting activities: Fun games and challenges with surprising gifts, information booths to know more about your favourite clubs, meet up with all the ‘bosses’ of our student clubs. <img class="aligncenter wp-image-24302" src="https://swinburne-vn.edu.vn/wp-content/uploads/mini-club.jpg" alt="" width="800" height="697" /> This fair made a contribution to SDG 11 – makes human settlements inclusive, safe, resilient and sustainable. By giving knowledge about clubs at Swinburne Vietnam, we expected students to settle and adapt better in a new environment, then have a fulfilled mental and physical health to enhance their academic performances.

Summer Festival

Summer Festival was organised in June 2022 for all students of the Hanoi location. From special performances by student clubs and special guests performers to fun activities like Open mic and games, with rewardable prizes for winners, the Summer Festival was held to ensure equal opportunity, allowing all participants to try something new and reducing inequalities of outcomes. <img class="aligncenter wp-image-23573" src="https://swinburne-vn.edu.vn/wp-content/uploads/summer.jpg" alt="" width="800" height="533" /> At the Summer Festival, we had a variety of activities that not only kept students entertained but also helped us make our communities safe and inclusive. Also, to minimize waste from snacks and drinks, we were serving tea breaks with organic and locally sourced snacks, using reusable cups and biodegradable cutlery for everyone. This activity showed the connection with SDG11, which is about improve education, awareness-raising on human settlements inclusive, safe, resilient and sustainable. Therefore, festival goers could enjoy their tea break with a clear conscience.

Hanoi/HCMC Cultural Exchange with SFC

In details, this event contributed to increasing the spirit of solidarity between students of the two regions, raising their awareness about balancing physical and mental health, and helping students better integrate into the environment at SVAP. After the sensational morning football match, our Swinners had chances to visit some notable monuments and to try some delicious dishes of Hanoi.
