On 21 July 2023, Swinburne Vietnam organised Career Day 2023, highlighting the importance of navigating the transition from university to industry. Career Day is a fair organised to support students preparing to enter their internship period as well as all students who want to develop a relationship with potential business partners and grasp career opportunities—short and long-term in their field of study. The event provides students with a one-stop place to meet recruiters from 15 well-known companies, thus expanding the professional networks with them and getting inside information on hiring and selection processes. <img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-26293" title="Career Day 2023 1" src="https://swinburne-vn.edu.vn/wp-content/uploads/DSC06808-scaled.jpg" alt="DSC06808 scaled" width="2560" height="1707" /><img class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-26294" title="Career Day 2023 2" src="https://swinburne-vn.edu.vn/wp-content/uploads/DSC06879-scaled.jpg" alt="DSC06879 scaled" width="700" height="466" /> Besides, there were four panel discussions acknowledging students about current movements in the industries of ICT, Media, Business and about important experiences of the internship semester. Notably, students who had prepared their CVs/Portfolios received practical advice to strengthen their profiles and got interviews with employers. <img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-26292" title="Career Day 2023 3" src="https://swinburne-vn.edu.vn/wp-content/uploads/cd-4-scaled.jpg" alt="cd 4 scaled" width="2560" height="1707" />   This event has raised students’ awareness on SDG 8, especially target 8.3. It had a significant contribution to promote support productive activities, decent job creation, entrepreneurship, creativity and innovation, including through access to employment services.

In May, Student Success Hub (SSH) was launched to foster a successful undergraduate student experience through strategic programming that focuses on meaningful academic transitions, the development of learning communities and future employability skills. Student Success Hub was for students from all disciplines and year levels to access a range of support to encourage each student’s overall growth and learning and make the learning strategies so that the student is successful at post-graduate school and employment. <img class="aligncenter wp-image-23571" src="https://swinburne-vn.edu.vn/wp-content/uploads/Success-hub.jpg" alt="" width="800" height="533" /> With the aims to encourage the overall growth and learning of each student but also make the learning strategies, the series of modules raises awareness of the skills required to succeed at Swinburne Vietnam and helps students acquire these skills. Our workshops supported students at any stage, from your initial transition into undergraduate study at the University; this series provided students with the essential skills to succeed in academic learning, exam, and test preparation, and self-manage skills. We offered a friendly, welcoming environment for all students to work toward advancing in their academic coursework. The Student Success Hub (SSH) worked towards SDG8 – decent work and economic growth – so they can take advantage of the career prospects available to them after completing their studies. By participating in the “PREPARE FOR SUCCESS” series, Swinburne students can better understand what they have to offer potential employers, gain confidence when applying for internships and jobs, and be well-equipped for their future endeavours.

Swinburne Career Day 2022 was held in July to inspire our students by discussing the importance of navigating the transition from university to industry.
