Swinburne Vietnam just announced its implementation plan for Swinburne Innovation Space in June 2021. The center manifests Swinburne Vietnam’s commitment to integrating technology, innovation and industry into students’ learning experience.
Located on 80 Duy Tan, Hanoi, Swinburne Innovation Space marks a new milestone in the partnership between Swinburne Vietnam and Vietnam’s leading tech companies in FPT group’s ecosystem. As the innovation center is in the heart of a high-tech location, it is envisioned to be a combination of academics and real industry experiences for students in the new world of digital transformation.
“Our students will research alongside top experts and have hands-on experiences from real-life projects. We purposefully place the innovation center right among the FPT ecosystem which is also in a tech hub so that students can easily connect with industry mentors and work on innovative solutions for clients. In exchange for our partners’ expertise and connections, we will provide them with the next generation of capable professionals who are prepared to work in a global landscape,” Dr. Hoang Viet Ha, Swinburne Vietnam’s Director, remarked.
The opening of Swinburne Innovation Space aligns with the Swinburne University of Technology’s 2025 Strategic Plan that outlines several “moon shots” – long term goals – for Swinburne’s campuses around the world. This plan emphasizes a deep industry integration to provide experiential learning, ensure full employment for students and offer innovative solutions to partners. As a whole, Swinburne’s focus on technology and industry integration embodies its vision to become the prototype of “the next generation of university” to prepare students for a technologically connected and global future.
Swinburne Innovation Space’s Grand Opening is going to be held on June 15. 2021. At the opening, representatives from Swinburne Vietnam, FPT Telecom and FPT Software International will sign an MoU on Industry Integration Cooperation. The innovation space will be ready to welcome students this Summer semester for their higher level coursework and projects with industry professionals. The center will be equipped with a technology lab and working space to serve research and idea incubation activities, along with promoting the university’s Industry Mentor program.
