Papier 2022

Inspired by our childhood projects in school, Swinburne Green and Blue (SGB) – our environment club organised and hosted Papier 2022.

Through the event, SGB was able to raise awareness amongst our student community on recycling our daily material – paper: Used paper is not just garbage, but it can be recycled. At the same time, SGB wanted to bring back some nostalgic memories of the old-day campaign ‘Kế Hoạch Nhỏ’, and happiness to those who donated with meaningful gifts.

With only 1kg of paper or more, students had the opportunity to receive lovely plants from SGB, which were in different sizes depending on the amount of paper people donated. Especially, with more than 5kg of paper, Swinners could get not only a cute plant but also a ticket to the ‘Paint Your Green’ Workshop of decorating plant pots by tRaumá – Swinburne Gardening Club.

By joining this event, students also had chances to understand more about SDG 12 – ensure sustainable consumption and production patterns. Papier 2022 successfully focused on Target 12.5, which is to substantially reduce waste generation through prevention, reduction, recycling, and reuse.
