Pride Week 2022

Pride Week was and project with events dedicated to the uplifting of LGBTQ voices, celebration of LGBTQ culture and the support of LGBTQ+ rights. In October 2022, Swinburne Vietnam Pride Week – Hanoi from 3-9 October. The event is organised and held by the current Swinburne Vietnam Student Council – Hanoi in collaboration with Signal Club – Swinburne Media club and SEC – Swinburne Event Club. The purpose of Pride Week is to raise awareness of LGBTQ+ related knowledge and existing issues within the local context, to create a safe space for students to share their stories and experiences. At Swinburne Vietnam Pride Week – Hanoi, several activities will be carried out including Make It Rainbow Day, Pride Week Radio, and social media campaign. The most remarkable event is UniTour – ‘Khuôn là khổ’ workshop parterned the Institute for Studies of Society, Economy, and Environment (iSEE).

In conclusion, the purpose of Swinburne Vietnam Pride Week – Hanoi is to promote Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 5 – Gender Equality, by creating a safe space for people from all walks of life to come together, share their stories and raise awareness on LGBTQ+ related knowledge and issues. As such, it is an event dedicated to the uplifting of LGBTQ+ voices, celebration of LGBTQ+ culture and the support of LGBTQ+ rights.
